The male emu bird incubates the eggs and chcks hatch after an incubation period of about  weeks.  Commercially, it takes about 53 days ( 50 days in setter and 3 days in hatcher).  Storage period of hatching egg is about 7 days.  It is preferable at temperature of 12.7degrees C-36.7degrees centigrade, where as relative humidity will be 35% and 45%, respectively.  Stored eggs result 93ūrtility with hatchability on total egg set 69% on fertileegg set 74% dead in embryo 22%and weak chicks 2.55% .  Emu chicks are restricted to incubator for quick absorption of the yolk and proper drying.
