Food Conversion Ratio (FCR) of growing emu bird is 5:1.  Finisher ration should be offered from 35 weeks age to slaughter or up to 12-18 months age.  The birds kept for breeding purpose need to be fed on maintenance feed specifically made for this purpose from 35th week age to sexual maturity by18-24 months.  Dressing percentage is 53%  and bird yields 3-4 liters of fat.  Addition of vegetable fat at 35% in emu diet will give better FCR.
