| HISTORY: The Miniature Pinscher is a native of Germany, but is also has been bred in the Scandianavian countries for a long time. Rapid development of the breed began somewhere around 1895. Though it looks similar to the Dobermann Pinscer on a smaller size. The Min-pin is a much older German breed dating to about 16th century.
DESCRIPTION: Height at withers 11 inches to 11 1/2 inches-both the sexes are disqualified if they measure under 10 inches or over 121/2 inches. They come in 3 colours (1) Solid red or Stag red. (2) Lustrous black with sharply defined tan, rest-red markings on cheek, lips, lower jaw, throat, twin spots above eyes and chest, lower half of fore legs inside of hind legs and vent region, lower portion of hocks and feet.. Black pencil strips on toes. Solid Brown-or Chocolate with rust or yellow markings.
CHARACTER: Min-pin has a nature and way suggestive of a much larger dog. It makes a very good watch dog, at times keener than a dog twice it size. Well known for its lively temperament and intelligence it has style, smartness and pep. It is very fond of home and its master.
SPACE AND EXERCISE: Min-Pin requires little exercise which he gets following his master about the home.
ATTENTION REQUIRED: A light brushing daily.
